This past year has been one of tremendous change and growth personally, primarily in the areas of love and faith.
Valley of the Five Lakes

There’s a great easy-moderate trail just a few kilometres south on the Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park, called ‘Valley of the Five Lakes’. I was there with my boys and we only hiked 1/3 of the trail. The colours of the lakes themselves are spectacular. If I recall correctly, this is lake #2. I hope to return to this trail on a future visit so I can complete the circuit, the boys just didn’t seem to have enough breakfast in them to get them through the full trek.

This shot was taken from atop “Whistler’s” in Jasper. Spent a weekend there with Keegan & Zakary in August of 2011 enjoying the sites and the trails.
Moody skies at Grizzly Lake

Was fishing at Grizzly Lake again on a very wet day. Got drenched for the better part of the day, but the fishing remained decent throughout.
This particular shot was using the digital infra-red filter (had been playing with that the last time I had the camera out), and was just thrilled with this ‘moody’ shot.

Caught a Rainbow

Well, 2011 is off to a better start then the last few years in terms of keeping a stiff line. I’ve managed to get out on the water a few times now. This is from my most recent outting and was taken at Grizzly Lake (southeast of town).
The fish were down a little deeper (15 ft or so) and their fly of choice seemed to a black doc spratley. I can say that he was delicious! :)
Fall in PG

We’ve been enjoying some truly beautiful colours in PG this season. I’ve had the pleasure, and the luxury of some time, to get to know some of the new trails that have been going in up at UNBC. Tax dollars at work for something useful that truly adds value to our community.
